Woohoo, my own site is finally ready and live! It’s been an exciting and fun project as I get to express a lot of myself in this work. This website isn’t just a website, but a new chapter of running my own business.
I love to show you my process of building the website. Let’s go!
Step 1: Creating Logo
For the first step of creating branding or web design is to have a logo. It can essentially set the mood and tones for the entire website. For my logo, I was looking for something that reflects my work and myself. Using two type of fonts can create uniqueness. So I decided to use a Serif and a handwriting font because I want my logo to look modern and sophisticated. To make it more outstanding, I chose to use a rose-gold metallic textures for the word ‘Vera’. I love that it created a glam to the logo.
I really fall in love with the outcome. It reflected everything I wanted in the design. It’s clean and simple, yet elegant.
Step 2: Branding Style Board
Creating a branding style board is my favorite part. It’s the process where you will start to see the overall mood and tones for the website.
The followings are the breakdown for each element of Branding Style Board:
Alternative Logo: I wanted to create a circular logo filled with color. It will make the logo stand out. So I chose a pink circular logo with a red font. The outcome was amazing, I really love it! The logo looks fresh, clean and modern, and it really pops out.
Favicon: I used the V from Vera as a favicon. I used the handwriting font to make it look more eye-catching.
Color Palette: I wanted some pinkish color, but there’s already a lot of websites that use the pastel kind of pink color. I wanted to pop out, so I chose a darker and peach kind of pink. I also added a brick red and a mustard color, which make the brand feel strong and modern.
Patterns & Textures: For the textures, I chose the rose gold foil, which I use for my main logo. It brings the glam to the website.
Fonts & Brand Elements: Brand Elements are very challenging, yet fun part. This part, I try to represent the brand in the web elements like buttons or icons. I get to use the previously picked color palette and patterns to play around and get the outcome that represents the brand.
Step 3: Website Design
For the overall design, I want it to represent my design style, simple and elegant. Moreover, I extremely want it to be user-friendly; it should be uncomplicated and easy to navigate.
I am so thrilled with the outcome. The site is modern, clean and eye-catching. I deeply hope that my website could be able to reach out and help other entrepreneurs to make their dreams come true.
